| spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | At the beginning of 2020, the appearance of atypical pneumonias was caused by the SARS-COV2 virus; the number of people affected with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) increased in the city of Wuhan, leading to the emergence of an epidemic that spread from the Asian continent to the European continent and finally affected the American continent. Being exposed to long working hours, lacking the necessary supplies to provide quality service, being assigned a greater amount of responsibilities, distancing from one's family nucleus, and experiencing an imbalance between work and enjoyment, lead to the development of post-traumatic stress syndrome and moral injury, resulting in the development of overvalued negative ideas, attention deficit due to hyperprosexia, decreased ability to make decisions, and the acquisition of depressive and anxious disorders; a phenomenon compatible with Burnout syndrome. Have the repercussions of the pandemic on the mental health of healthcare workers been adequately evaluated? This is what we address in this article with the compilation of information provided by scientific articles. This issue has been overlooked in the healthcare sector in the last decade despite the increased relevance given to mental health and the visibility of mental health problems among healthcare workers.
