Considering the English proficiency levels that elementary school students have and contrasting this with the current reality that the Ministry of Education proposes, this is a harsh truth for the bilingual education that is supposed to be achieved in Colombia. Therefore, an ingenious strategy that contributes to the development and improvement of the primary skill for learning a foreign language, vocabulary, is necessary to make a significant change in student’s learning. In this sense, an innovative strategy called pop-up books was proposed, which consisted in the elaboration of 3D books developed by the students that were also transversalized by using soft CLIL methodology with the natural science subject. That is why this study entitled "Pop-up Books as a Strategy to Develop English Vocabulary Skill in Fourth-Grade Students at Corazón del Valle Educational Institution, San Judas Tadeo Headquarters in Tuluá", was proposed with the objective of analyzing the development of English vocabulary through the use of pop-up books. This research was developed with a mixed approach, adopting a sequential explanatory design and a descriptive scope where 14 students from the 4th grade of a public institution Tuluá city were used as population. Also, four instruments were used to measure this population, a validated vocabulary diagnostic test, a didactic sequence, descriptive field diaries and a data analysis grid. Finally, the results of this research proved that pop-up books served as an innovative, effective and positive strategy in the development of vocabulary learning.eng
